What I do

Mindset. pOSSIBILITY. Therapy.

Hi, I’m Amanda. I’m a Clinical Counsellor (#4748), Counselling Therapist (#2683), Psychotherapist/Professional Counsellor (#3160), certified DBT Clinician, Faith-Based and Spiritual Counsellor, Body Language Expert, Advanced Grief Counselling Specialist, and Clinical Trauma Specialist pursuing a MA. (I’m also an executive by day!) All this to say- you are in good hands!

I know finding the right “fit” can be hard when there are so many therapists and services available. There are so many try this and do that ideas. So many strategies and tool kit options that are meant to “change and heal.” For you, the client, this can be hard when all you want is real understanding, connection, support, and strategies. I am the kind of person who knows life can be messy, there are good days and bad days, you can heal, forgive, and overcome, it’s not always easy, and no one way fits all. We can do this together.

Support for all ages

When you aren’t sure … but know you want something different than what you have right now. When saying, “I’m fine,” is not wholly true anymore. When you know you want more for yourself and your life but aren’t sure where to turn or how to make your changes last- it’s a good time to talk!

Connection and Understanding

Child Therapy (6-12 years old)

If you are looking for support for your child, let’s talk. School and learning concerns, social issues, friendship trouble, self-esteem worries, existential questions, adjustment concerns in split families and/or new activities, worrisome behaviors, and big feeling outbursts…signal us to support differently and to connect meaningfully in new ways. I can help through play therapy, empowerment, communication building, life skill development, confidence building, mentoring, and coaching.

Adjustment and Navigation

Youth Therapy (13-17 years)

We all know being a teen is hard. It’s harder for the teen going through it, in the middle of it! I have specialized youth training to support teens living and dealing with anxiety, depression, social concerns, technology, vaping, drug and alcohol use, self-harm, sleep issues, school and home concerns, and existential/suicidal thoughts. Even if your child is “OK,” it’s 2025 and their pressures and experiences are real, impactful, and significant. Having a safe person to help guide their journey makes a huge difference.

Adulting (The good life)

Adult Therapy (18+)

I know it might not be easy to book an appt to talk. Maybe you have tried it all before and nothing fixes what you feel and believe is wrong, off, and upsetting. I know you probably have 100 other pressing priorities. You’re fine. You’ll deal with it. You are resilient. YES! BUT.

What happens if you aren’t? What if being fine or living like this is not the best? What might you change if you could? What would your 80-year-old self suggest doing today that would make you great? Much can be healed, changed, and accomplished when we talk. Try a session and see how we can work together.

How it COULD GO

Putting the pieces together

When you are feeling low, down, spiraling, depressive, anxious, and having what many call “an episode” it can be hard to know where to start. I can help guide your memories, experiences, and traumas into healing and a plan of action to overcome and manage what holds you. Maybe your friends, family, or partner suggested you talk to someone. Perhaps you agree this is important, or maybe not, but it’s okay. Perhaps you woke up today and decided to reach out because you are done with how things are going. We can piece it together and walk through your story.

Walking in the weeds

Once we understand what is happening for you, what’s been done to you (and not), and how you are processing things in your memory and current situation, we can start to implement strategies, solutions, coping skills, and communication skills that both provide safety and boundaries. Through talking, inner work, emotion identification and regulation, situational awareness, and goal progression, you will start to feel, think, and act in alignment. You control the pace. You make progress. You change your life. I support you and assist you.

Turning point

The goal of therapy is to help you feel good, not just some of the time but most of the time. There are so many things we can do to help! Often, clients will tell me therapy changed their lives! I would like to take all the credit for this, but the truth is, therapy is hard work, and it is done by YOU. When you do the tough stuff and realize one day in a moment that used to be hard that you are OK, better, content, and equipped…it’s because you made great changes and did it! I am happy to support your journey and story as long as needed.

Do I stay with my child in sessions?

You can stay with your child as long as they need you (and you want to!) to feel comfortable. 1, several or all. Many of my clients come in with their parent/s and then ask them to “leave” after a short update to enjoy some coffee/Zen time in the lobby! I am always available to support your child and the success of your family. Questions? Please ask me and we can talk. *I request this be done outside of your child’s session! Send me an email/phone.

Can more than one member of our family be in therapy with you?

Yes. I am trained to support people individually without there being a conflict of interest. Everyone is unique, has a personal story and viewpoint, and a past to heal from. IF I find I am not able to offer the right non-biased kind of support, I will gladly refer you to a colleague without hesitation. Sometimes having consistent support in the home makes a big difference in the family/home life.
